I just started taking Metformin to control insulin resistance. Is it necessary when just eatinfruit and veggie |
Also, if I take it at breakfast, lunch and dinner, does it overlap for snack times in between? I have seen more and more doctors treating insulin resistance with medication because of the link between IR and what is referred to as syndrome X which is cholesterol, heart disease, stroke and poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. Have you been diagnosed with only insulin resistance or diabetes? It is not the same thing. Insulin resistance is a pre-diabetic condition and most of the times a doctor would recommend to control it with diet only. Diabetes most of the times can not be controlled with diet only and requires drugs like metformin. |
