What are drugs used to treat insulin resistance and their side effects.?

Metformin (Glucophage) is most often used. I've been taking it for about 2 years for insulin resistance due to PCOS. I have had no side effects. Most common side effects are GI related such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and stomach discomfort. You're less likely to have any side effects if you take it with food.
