How do I cure myself of Insulin Resistance?

How do I cure myself of Insulin Resistance?

Easy... quit eating foods with a lot of refined carbs and animal fats and start eating more foods high in nutrition and low in refined carbs. See your grocer's produce section for more.

The above answer misses the point... many type two (insulin resistant) patients aren't all that overweight. The cause of being overweight is the same as the cause for insulin resistance... poor diet. I'm not saying don't exercise, but being overweight is not the root cause... poor diet is. I had been exercising a lot, eating a low carb diet, and lost 50 pounds, but my insulin resistance was still a problem.... Until I started eating more fruits and vegetables and less refined crap. That's when a "miracle" happened. My blood sugar went down, meaning my insulin resistance went down. Since Dec. 13th, I no longer take ANY medication for my diabetes. Folks, this is not rocket science... if you eat what our bodies evolved around (natural foods), not only will it be easier to maintain a healthy weight, your insulin resistance will go down. I consume between 100 and 125 grams of SUGAR a day. Not table sugar, sugar from fruits and vegetables. And my BGL is averaging 90 mg/dl WITHOUT MEDICATION. Why? Because it's natural fructose. It's much easier for the body to deal with than that refined crap. Plus, your natural foods are loaded with all kinds of important nutrients, like potassium which, the lack of, has been shown to increase insulin resistance. Did you know that you should be consuming between 2,000 and 4,000 mg of (naturally occurring) potassium a day? Didn't think so.

One more thing... since Dec. 13th, my energy level has increased dramatically.

Exercise and lose weight. Insulin resistance is partly genetic for sure, but it also shows up mostly in people who are overweight and don't exercise. Exercise increases your body's sensistivity to insulin. Since fat tissue decreases your sensitivity to insulin, losing weight will increase your sensitivity. Good luck.

You don't!!! You might reduce the insulin resistancy of your bod for a while with change of lifestyle, as in more exercising, less carb foods, weight reduction, but you don't cure it.

Best you can hope for is control for years with really strict food planning and exercise program.

Exercise and eat healthy. Most of all pray! - Say with Gods Stripes I am Healed. Read my testimony...... He does everything for me....... look i can actually can give you a living testimony........... The Doctors said that I have diabetes..... I told myself I would not claim it because through God he can work any miracle. Anyway.. The devil was trying to get the best of me, within 3 months of the doctor telling me that I have diabetes my vision began to get a tad blurry and my feet were numb, tingly and giving a burning sensation about 10-15 times a day for about 6 months straight. A prophet came to me and told me not to claim the sickness but to continue to pray about it! I am only 19 years of age, having these nerve damages and everything else was to much for me to bare. But, i remembered that God will never give me more then i can bare.. can u believe that for about 2 weeks straight my vision has been 100% better and those damaged nerves have been restored. No medicine no nothing. And let me tell you something, the prophet guarantees that when I go back, Diabetes will not even be in my file! They say it's impossible but hey, With God he can do all things! You Better Believe it! - I am a living testimony! And that's why I believe in God!
