Insomnia??? |
So here's my case: Once your internal clock gets screwed up, it is so hard to get it back. I have worked night jobs off and on for 11 years. It is very hard for me even now that I havent worked a night job in almost 7 months to get to sleep at a decent hour. I wake up around 7 a.m. with the kids(7 of them) and usually go to bed between 1-2 am. SOmedays its a lot later. idk mayb u should go to a doctor and c what they say I have the same problem. Even when I stayed awake for 36 hours I still could not get to sleep. I tried ambien and it did put me to sleep but it made me wake up and eat in the middle of the night. My doctor reccomended lunesta and although it didn't make me fall asleep as fast it did keep me asleep. I didn't like the idea of getting addicted to sleep aides so i stopped taking them only to have the problem return. I wish i could tell you there was a real "cure" for the problem but the pills are the only way I have found that really work. Talk to your doctor and see what he reccomends. Your mind is in overdrive especially if you're on the computer or playing video games constantly.(if that's what you're doing) You need to wind down before going to sleep, so no computer, games, or TV. Instead try soaking in a bath to relax yourself, then if you can tolerate it, have a hot glass of milk, yeah, you must boil the milk but only for a minute, otherwise it will burn. I just warm mine in the microwave and then add a little sugar to it. Next make sure all your bedding is clean, just fresh out of the laundry, I don't know why, but I feel sooooooo relaxed with the bedding is clean, and me just fresh out of a bath, and clean pj's if you wear them. Now relax with a good book and you should just drift off to dreamland on your own. Hope this works for you too and sweet dreams. Oh and don't even think of drinking alcohol or pills, you'll just makes things worse regarding sleep, you'll be even more tired the next day and still unable to sleep. I know cause I've been there, done that. Well I've been copping it a lot lately. It all started about 9 months ago, when I couldn't sleep a wink, and then on the 2.12.06 another night when I couldn't sleep a wink, and then just before Christmas, a whole week of only five hours sleep and on Christmas day itself no sleep at all. Come the new year I think I've beaten it, but at the end of January, same thing again, and it's only started to improve as of yesterday. I've tried going to bed a little earlier, and that seems to work out pretty well, the last time I couldn't sleep was last Wednesday. I think I'm beating it.
