Help!! Insomnia when I have to work next day?

Hi, everyone. I have been suffering from insomnia for long but only if i have to work in the following day. (I work nightshift and work 7 days on and 7 days off) When The week im off and I could sleep. I have tried lots method including herbal pills, sleeping pills, alcohol, self hypnos tracks...etc but just didn't help. Can anyone tell me what to do? Everytime i come back from work i immediatly worry about not being able to sleep and its causing me a vicious cycle, (worry-insomnia-worry). Anyway thanks for anyone who can tell me where i can seek a proper theatment or help. Thanks

I heard that Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can treat insomnia, but how could i manage to seek this kind of therapy?

First off i think all those sleeping pills and remedies and alcohol is making it worse.
Also i would then talk to a doctor and ask him/her to recommend someone for you. And if you can really really try to rearrange your schedule at work.

when i worked nights i had same trouble what i used to do was shut my eyes and think i was in a dark warm room with no lights and no sounds after a while it worked i started to sleep for 7-8 hrs

contact your pcp and he can prescribe a night in a sleep lab for you. or see if there are any research studies in your area for insomniacs. the fact that you work the night shift probably has your cycles all messed up. it is best to go to sleep at the same time every night (or day) and get up at the same time. try to stay on the same sleep schedule even when you are off of work. may turn you into a vampire though. also, if you cannot sleep, get out of bed and go do something else for 15 minutes like read or something. regular excercise may help you as well.

Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/ for more info
