Beef Burger Question?

hi I recently ordered a Authentic beef burger but strangely the beef burger was medium rare and it Tasted like Insecticide does anyone know why this is so . The burger just tasted funny.

It was the blood taste in the meat

For Beef
Cows sometimes have ecolie bacteria
in the intestines

If their bowels were cut during the butchering process this ecolie can end up on the out side of the meat

so for roasts and steaks you can have them rare or med
but for hamburgers because they are ground up the out side of the meat can be on the inside and it is mixed up the ecolie bacteria is all through it.

If you know the butcher or the restaurant deals with reliable ones you can have raw or not completely cook
meat even hamburgers

But for the most part you should always fully cook hamburger.

To get back to the taste.
If they did not drain all of the blood it can have a almost metallic taste to it.

Also it depends on the spices they put into the hamburger.
