Does permethrin cause cancer?

It's in lice shampoo and insecticide killer. I heard that lindane can cause very big problems. Does permethrin do the same? Or is it safer than lindane?

You would not want to drink permethrin but compared to the dangers of Lindane - no comparison - permethrin is much much safer. Lindane has been known for a long time to be highly toxic while itching is the primary side effect of permethrin. You can read about potential cancer risks in the bottom link PDF file.
