Does insect repellent expire? |
I found 2 full bottles in a drawer from like 2 or 3 summers ago...is it still good or should I just throw it out? yes they do. The replent can be dissoved over time, the smell maybe gone, and the effect of it may not be as well. But this situation dosn't happen unless repelent is left for more than 5-6 years. Pretty much everything losses its effectiveness over time. Check the bottle, it most likely has an expiration date on it. If you can't find one, I would just throw them out and buy a new bottle. It's not expensive stuff to buy and it's better to use something that you know is new and good. |

I have actually seen a sunscreen that contains insect repellent (Avon), so I'm betting it's safe to put them on one after the other. I would use the sunscreen first, let it dry, then app... "GIT" ...Skin So Soft is pretty good, and products with DEET. But mosquitos respond to heat, so whomever gives off the most heat, gets bit the most. In a crowd, they'll go for me. Fleas always ... Avon's skin-so-soft(the original) is used by the Military as a bug repellent and Vitamin B-6 also works as an excellent repellent(you take it)other than that I have no advice. ...I dunno if eating garlic will keep mosquitoes away, but it can certainly keep people away! I wouldn't as so may things can cause an asthma attack. ...yep plus if you rub lavender lotion on insect bites, it helps soothe them! ...walmart sells OFF bracelets u can wear to repel the little buggers or u can pin a fabric softner sheet to u sounds weird but it works ... |
