Insect bites in winter?

A couple of days ago, I felt an itch on my right bicep and as I was working out at the gym, it really flared up like a mosquito bite. The next day, the area grew more and despite using Caladryl, it continues to itch and swell.

Is it possible to get an insect bite in the middle of winter? It's currently very cold here where I live but I don't understand why I am having this. What do I have that is causing this? I had a similar bite a few weeks ago (2 medium bites) on the same arm and it went away but is left a little mark on those spots.

PS: When I got it, I was wearing a long sleeve sweater and a blazer, so it's impossible for anything to get through 2 articles of clothing that is long sleeved.

I'm prone to getting mosquito bites during the summer.

you can still get mosquito bites in winter take some piriton tabs. it will clear them up if it is mosquito bites

Put calamine lotion on it for them to stop itching. Ihad them too and it helped Report It

It's possible it could be bed bugs... Sometimes the areas don't itch until much later, and they do tend to travel in clothes. Report It

Sounds to me like you might have a spider that thinks you're tasty.

As far as the long sleeved clothing when you got it, perhaps you actually got it earlier than that and it just didn't react till then.

It could be a spider bite---they're year round indoors even in the winter time.

Try benadryl---the pill, not the cream. And ice it.
I feel your pain, I got bit on the back of my head and had to have surgery to remove an infected area.
