Infected insect bites? |
I live in France. 3 weeks ago I went swimming by a lake and ended up with several mosquito-type insect bites. 2 of these bites on my legs are still sore, red and itchy. The surrounding skin is red, raised and bruised looking. I have been told by a pharmacist that the only treatment is to see a doctor for antibiotics. Is this true, or just an overreaction? Taking antibiotics seems to me to be pretty heavy-handed for a couple of insect bites. Isn't there a topical solution? I've just come back from Turkey with a few unwanted souvenirs. i have also been told the same thing. there is an infection under the skin and it hurts like hell. I'm off tomorrow to see my GP. it's better to be safe than sorry because the infection could turn to septicaemia or gangrene if left untreated Take Brewers yeast it can help keep insects away from your skin. They sell these at boots visit www.must-haves.co.uk Report It if you didn't actually see what bit you --I would go to the doctor you need to see a doctor immediately even if its not bad or infected it still needs to be checked out I had the same problem and I ended up having to take antibiotics as anti histamine cream didn't work. I'd just bite the bullet and go to the docs before they get really infected and scar. Sure sounds infected to me which means you NEED antibiotics. Not a choice at this point. i got bitten by ants in spain and had a allergic reaction went to hospital and had anti estimine injection, tablets and cream, go to doctors better safe than sorry. TRY VINEGAR. |
