Why am i prone to insect bites?

usually mosquitoes , bed bugs , ants , honey bees..usually find me to bite / sting...why is this so. Someone told me to get a blood test done since my blood maybe sweet. I even got that done and the blood sugar levels are normal.

This sounds true...they told me to stock up on lots of Vitamin B...i get attacked horribly by fleas every year..so between the vitamin B and using lots of insect repellent on the skin..I do a little better...so good luck...it sucks

Good luck..i hate flea bites!!! And thank you! Report It

I think it might be related to diet and natural body chemistry. When I first moved to Japan I NEVER got bit by anything. And dragonflies and butterflies would fly up and just land on me like I was a tree or something.
After I was there a few years I realized that I was starting to get as many mosquito bites as everybody else, and the dragon flies didn't come visit anymore either.

its just a matter of personal chemistry, you need to wear bug repellant.

oh i totally feel like that sometimes, like there'll be 5 people in a room, or in the same area, and i have like 10 bug bites, and everyone else has zero, its crazy! i know that as far as mosquitoes go, they are more attracted to you after you eat a banana, it sounds silly, but its true!

Do you sweat alot? Mosquitos are attracted to sweat and the color blue for some reason...

they are attracted to high levels of vitamin b. my sister hads this problem when we lived in florida with the mosquitoes.

Yeah, it's usually a body chemistry thing. Years ago, my sister and I used to sit out in our backyard during hot summer nights. I would get zero to few mosquito bites, but she would get eaten alive. Happened every time. They either preferred her, or simply did not like what I had to offer.

Maybe you are a very sweet person so much that insects and bugs cant resist you. Just as we cant resist cuddling a cute child, maybe the bugs cant help themselves and keep from biting you!

you taste yummy

funny question to ask, but it is SO TRUE! no matter where i am, i am always the person who gets eaten alive by mosquitoes and everyone else will have none or one bite! drives me crazy.
i don't sweat more than anyone else, so that theory seems wrong to me.
i always just thought bugs are attracted to certain scents that some people have and others don't. who knows, but i do hope we come to the correct answer!
