I recently had a food allergy test done by my allergy doctor with the results confirming positive Ige antibodies to wheat (Level 2).
I don't see him again until July and am so confused by how serious this is. Should I be eliminating wheat from my diet? Also on the skin prick test corn was very severe but on the blood test was negative. I hate to eliminate these things if unnecessary but also will if it will help me feel better.
(Inhalant allergies are very severe- grass and mold are the worst). Any help understanding this will be much appreciated.
Symptoms could possibly be caused by allergy to wheat: anemia, fatigue, ibs.
Celiac panel was negative. Since the Celiac panel was neg (and bravo to the doc for testing uf or it!! But were u eating gluten at the time of the test? If u werent the test can be wrong.)
Anyway, it would seem tom e if you tested with high IGE that means you are indeed allergic. I would not hurt if u are allergic to eliminate them and see how u feel. If you did indeed have Celiac Disease, it would be a slight pain bc to rerun any test you'd need to be consuming the gluten again.
Check out the Yahoo Health Group "Foodallergynetwork" they can help alot.
