What is In an Influenza vaccine. Please read on Intresting story..? |
Ok. Just last week in October I went to the doctor because I was sick. He ask me If I wanted an influenza vaccine or a flu shot. so please tell me what do you think is in a flu shot that is being so gaurded. I'm glad you are concerned what is going into your body, especally when it comes to vaccines. For starters, they put a virus into your body. (thats what influenza is) but in order to keep the vaccine "fresh" they had to put into it a lot of preservatives. That is where my main concern comes in. If you want more info on whats in your vaccine, wether it's flu, or chicken pox, or even just tetnus, do a google search. You'll find more info there then you probably ever wanted to know the flu vaccine that i get every year consists of a synthetic vaccine and does not use live bacteria. i am always amazed at people that fuss and say they got really sick from it because truly it is impossible. if your family doc refuses to discuss contecnt os a vaccine with you - i would RUN from him and get another doctor. There isn't anything in there that guarded like it is a secret. Your Dr. didn't know the answer to your question so tried a diversion technique. Drs. often try to make stuff sound mysterious or tell you it is too complicated for a lay person to understand when they just don't know themselves. I have many friends who work at Glaxo and while there are things you might not like that are in the vaccine (a certain amount of mercury for instance) there is nothing top secret or horribly scarey. |
