How does influenza spread through saliva and into the rest of the body? |
How does influenza spread through saliva and into the rest of the body? Influenza is actually an airborne disease. If someone who already has it, even if they don't know it yet, they can spread the virus. If they cough, sneeze, etc there is a large area of respiratory droplets that are produced but even normal face to face conversation can spread the droplets when the infected person sneezes. Infected people should wear a mask if they have to be near healthy people, anyone in contact with infected people should wash their hands before and after contact. It spreads through your saliva down into your stomach, into your small intestine and through the walls of the intestine into the blood which carries it all over your body. |
