Missing my period...Help?

Hello!

I am a 15 year old girl who was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease last January. Because of this disease I have lost a lot of weight, and have been struggling to put it back on. Along with the loss of weight, I lost my menstrual period. I haven't had it for a year now. My question is this: What are the long term risks involved with not having a menstrual cycle? Will I be able to have children, or will my fertility be damaged?
Any other info would be helpful as well.
Thanks!

Thanks, my doctor knows already but he wants to see if it will come back with my bowel medications. I am just curious as to what can result if it doesn't come back, because honestly I don't miss it (lol) but if it could inhibit me from having children, I want it to return.

I don't think you should worry too much about it your body has an amazing way of returning itself back to normal after you have been poorly, mine stopped when i was ill but when i got better, it came back and returned to normal, trouble is worrying about it won't really help either! just look after yourself and you will be fine... but it you are worried go and see your doctor just to be on the safe side!
