Infertility caused from gonorrhea?!? |
how long do you have to have it for, untreated, to cause infertility?????? like how long does it take to be in your system for infertility to happen?? Many STDs, and especially gonorrhea, are asymptomatic in women, that is, there are no symptoms, unless checked by a doctor. There r a few times though, that a woman may experience symptoms. Most bacterial STDs can be treated without permanent damage, if caught early. Gonorrhea, may cause PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) in a woman, which may lead to infertility if left untreated. If u have any doubts, please visit ur OB/GYN. Gonorrhea can be detected in a urine analysis. I am not a doctor but I think that is very hard for gonorrhea to cause infertility. Symptoms are very strong and noticeable so the will need to see a doctor almost immediately. In a woman it can cause infertility due to scarring in her tubes. Any STD can do that. It doesn't matter how long it was there or if it was treated quickly or not. An infection is an infection and can cause permanent scarring. It all depends on a woman. Some women can have it for 20 years and still make healthy babies. Others have been sterilized after a month. It is a serious disease and can cause lifelong health problems if not treated. |
