Varicose Veins as related to infertility?

I have several questions in one. I'm really panicing about this, so a link would be greatly appreciated.

First, I've heard that varicose veins on a testicle can cause infertility. Is this true?

Also, is it safe to have surgery to have removed? If it can be removed, does that increase your ability to have a child back up to normal? Are there any negative side effects to just leaving it there if I were to decide I did not want children? If I did have surgery to have it fixed, how long would I be out of action for? Would it leave a permanent scar or decrease my sex drive?

As you can tell, I basically know nothing. Please help me!

Testicular varicocele is only a possible cause as there are no conclusive studies linking the two of them. A varicocele is just a dilation of the testicular blood vessels most commonly secondary to defective valves within the veins. They do not normally cause pain. The only side effect that you would be worried about would be testicular atrophy (shrinkage) which would only occur of the varicocele impairs the flow of blood away from the testicle (uncommon). Surgeries to repair this are not normally extensive and you should only be out of commission for a few days, no longer than a week at the latest. As far as a permanent scar, I don't think you'd be able to worry about it since you can't see down there anyway, but surgery is typically outpatient through a small incision. Your sex drive is not affected by having a varicocele unless you psych yourself out by worrying about it. Overall they normally don't cause problems and when they do fixing them is simple.

I've attached an article if you'd like to know more. I hope this helps.
