Is a kick to the balls instant infertility?

I always hear people saying a kick in the balls has a very high chance of infertility. On the other hand, I've heard the chances are pretty low and you would have to do worse to destroy the testicles.

Which is right? I know someone who did get a good hit in the balls (as in someone swung a plastic bottle and somehow missed...wow), and it was quite painful...but I hope not the end of his generation!

Thanks!

It is painful, but unless you rupture the testicle, they will recover.

Most guys have taken a hit of some sort to the balls in their lifetime, and the world if it did cause infertility, the world wouldn't have the over population problem it does.

it can lead to instant infertility but both testis would need to be damaged from the kick.... it would need to be a very strong kick in the right spot to cause it...

Your testicles can take quite a bit of punishment, or else nature wouldn't have left them exposed out there in the open but tucked them safely inside like a gal's ovaries.

Getting kicked there is extremely painful, usually makes you throw up, and causes your scrotum (sac) to fill up with protective fluid, but seldom does any permanent damage.

I've heard of a southeast Asian tribal ritual where boys have to stab themselves in one testicle with a bamboo sliver (and leave it there) as a badge of manhood, which makes that one testicle sterile. Other than that kind of injury, most bruising doesn't do any permanent damage, and after the swelling goes down, things should be back to normal.
