Infertility Question?

I have a question for those who is taking Clomid.Since January 2006 I had been diganosed with PCOS.My Gynecologist put me on 850 mg of Metformin and 50 mg of Clomid(Clomiphene Citrate) and been taking the medication faithfully for the last 5 months.I had tested each single month for a positive pregnancy which resulted in negative pregnancy each single time .Missed a period in May 2006 was forced to go back on Provera to start my menstrual cycle and up my dosage of clomid from 50 mg to 100 mg..(2 50 mg tablets)..
Has any woman been successful with a pregnancy while taking Clomid? I feel this medication is not working.I had talked to my doctor about this and suggested I wait until September before he refers me to a fertility specialist.
What are your views on this?

Took ovulation test last Sunday to predict if I was ovulating however the indicators tells me i wasn't.I am usualy good with my cycles and last weekend was the time for me to ovulate.I called my doctor and explained the situation. he believes there could be something else that is going on.

I too diagnosed in 1997... and after 9 years of trying we finally conceived using clomid. 500mg "2 50mg pills a day for 5 days!"

Had a healthy baby girl in 2002.
And Praise the Lord we had our 2nd baby girl 2005. She just turned one!!! And she was a surprise!!!! NO fertility meds used!!!

So it took a while & it's hard to wait but it was worth it all!!!!

50 mg is a really low dose . CLomid and metaformin is usally given together if you have pcos . I have been all the way up to 200 with multiple eggs produced / np pregnancy as yet :9 sadly enough . I have read in many of the forums that although it creates multiple mature eggs it can create a hostile cervical/mucus enviroment ...their are many great forum . you can do a search on yahoo ....good luck By the way their are many different fertility drugs . Clomid is one of the cheapest so is usually the first choice of medication

I DONT KNOW ABOUT CLOMID BUT I WAS ON DEPO FOR 1 YR GOT MARRIED WANTED ANOTHER BABY GOT OFF DID NOT HAVE A PERIOD FOR 1/2 YR. WENT TO DOC CAUSE PERIOD FINALLY CAME ON BUT WAS LATE. ON JAN 13 DID A PAP SAID THE DEPO WAS STILL IN SYSTEM ON JAN16 THE DAY AFTER MY HUBBY WENT TO IRAQ I FOUND OUT I WAS 3 WEEKS PREGNANT. WHEN YOU STOP TRYING OR STOP THINKING ABOUT IT IT WIL HAPPEN
