I want to become an infectious diseases doctor, what do I need to do?

I know I need to go to medical school, and then go into an Infectious Diseases residency. Does anybody know of any good textbooks or materials online I could study for infectious diseases? :)

You'll have a bright and BUSY future in ID. Good for you!
You can find some pretty cool new and used books at www.alibris.com, www.amazon.com and all kinds of information about both common and rare dzs at www.medbioworld.com. The medical libraries at med schools are a great resource of information.

Just run a search for "infectious diseases" and something's bound to come up. Enjoy!

i don't know, but maybe you could take a look at this for me...does that look infected?

get into a good medical school first , get good grades and participate in research if you can, it will help . maybe when you do graduate or when you become an intern you will change your mind and want another speciality , or maybe you won't. the most important thing is to become a good dr so be a good student and a good person .
i hope you reach your goal.
good luck.

go to college

yes, there many books on-line as well as text eg;medical microbiology by sherris, medical microbiology -murray, medical microbiology -samrans(pubmed NCBI)on line,micropath-online
