Infectious diseases through public toilets?

What are the chances of getting infected from other people by sharing toilets ? What could be such a disease ? How to avoid that? Does cleaning toilet seats with alcohol help ?

I work in the oilfield, and I spend 1 month in the desert. I'm forced to share toilets! (don't have a choice !)

The odds of catching a disease from a toilet is extremely slim. Unless you have any cuts around the waist line that could become infected from germs on the toilets.

Most Std want live once osegen hits them. How eever the craps if on hair can be on toliet sits so be careful.

I believe that this is an "Old Wives Tale". If you have any worries, then cover the seat, with paper. Just remember to bang the seat a few times, to get rid of the spiders and scorpions.

All I can share is that I keep the toilet at home extremely clean, by cleaning it every day, I am cleaning a clean toilet. I use the alcohol to wipe the seat and the surrounding area , in that way I feel safe to sit down, even if it is used only by family members, and on occasions by extended family members and friends. It may be possible to get an infection if there is a scratch on the skin or any kind of fissure or small cut. There are cans of spray on the Market for spraying the toilet and the seat to sanitize it when you must use the public toilet. Inquire at CVS Rite Aid or Meijer ask the Pharmacist he will direct you and explain more if you ask There are also the toilet seat tissue paper cover that you may find in better Department stores Rest Room , see the Pharmacist these should be available for purchase. Good thinking watch for scorpions, etc. Beau R
