Infectious disease specialist...

Haha. A doctor of infectious disease IS called a "Doctor of Infectious Disease!" Or a doctor of internal medicine. Also known as an internalist.

Anyways, here's a link that might help some.

They are called an infectious disease specialist... I should know; I have seen many.

Doctor of Internal Medicine - any experienced MD can diagnose and treat this condition.

Some others have got better answers than I. I don't really know

"Stupid people often assume they are smart!

Smart people assume there is still a lot they still dont know."

People with Hep C (HCV) can be treated by Infectious Disease specialists or gastroenterologists (GI docs). Best wishes.

You answered your own question. A doctor who specializes in the treatment of infectious diseases is called an infectious disease specialist. Doctors of this nature are often involved in research and work in laboratories such as the Center for Disease Control or other private companies.

You can find one in the yellow pages by looking under "physicians" and then under "infectious disease". However, a liver specialist or GI doctor (gastrointestinal) would also be qualified to treat hepatitis because hepatitis is a liver disorder.

"Hepat" means liver..."itis" means inflammation of...therefore, hepatitis means inflammation of the liver.

EMT

If he has been diagnosed as having hep C, he has a serious problem. It may be symptomatically treated but not cured.

Here is what the Mayo Clinic has to say about it: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hepatit...

specialized medical doctor called a pathologist, I believe.
