What are some health promotion strategies for common infectious diseases?

What are some health promotion strategies for common infectious diseases?

Information dissemination in the form of ad campaigns, leaflets, health promotion events, educating the public about risks and prevention.

Targeting 'at risk' groups and providing intensive campaigns aimed at them, through for instance, schools, day care centres for the elderly, workplace involvement.

Disease-specific campaigns to raise awareness about a particular disease, tv ads, newspaper articles etc (meningitis or flu vaccines are good examples of this).

Education provided in schools about basic health awareness.

The list goes on...

Prevention: thru diet and vitamin supplements, exercise, and relaxation time to alleviate any stress.

Definitely HYGIENE promotion, which can best be started at an early age with children in pre/primary school.
