Viral infections, what are they, and why did this affect my head? |
I just recently got out of the hospital. I was diagnosed with a viral infection. It affected my head. Just felt like someone was using a knife and hammer to get in, that's what the pain felt like. I want to know more about this and if anyone else has felt like this. You must have had viral meningitis. Many different viruses can cause it. There is fever, intense headache, vomiting and drowsiness. there is neck stiffness on examination. Lumbar puncture is done and the cerebrospinal fluid is tested. Congratulations on your recovery. Thankfully I have not experienced first hand the kind of pain you talked about, however, a viral infection was an awfully vague diagnosis. Your discharge summary should have information for exactly waht you were being treated for (ie. what virus) |
