Viral infections? |
Has anyone had a child with some type of virus that caused white spots on tongue and upper lip. If so what can they have to help ease the pain until it goes away. Tylenol and Ibuprofen are not helping. It could be Hand, Foot, and Mouth. Although the sores can be painful there is nothing you can really do about it. That sounds like thrush. It's kind of a yeast infection of the mouth, and is relatively common in infants. Some home remedies are "painting" the spots with yogurt, swallowing probiotic capsules, and eating garlic cloves. I really think you should talk to your pediatrician about a prescription anti-fungal. Sorry this sounds so gross. I don't know what you can do for pain. Icy-pops, maybe... if it really is thrush, a frozen yogurt bar could help with both the pain and the infection. Again, talk to your pediatrician. |
