How can the common viral infections can be controlled now-a-days?

avoiding infection is the first line of defence. vacines such as the flu shot will be helpful. i also have a b-12 injection every other week, it tends to help me fight over those nasty lil buggers.

penicillin

avoid contracting it in the first place

See after you come in contact with a contagious person who has coughed on you make sure to wash your hands with soap and water and do not touch your eyes, ears and nose

Viral infections can't really be controlled once they start their nefarious work. Antibiotics don't work because they are best suited for bacteria. Virus can be immunized from via shots, using a dead or weakened virus to stimulate antibodies. If you want to control a virus from spreading, cleaning and washing is a good way to help a virus from spreading.

The best possible way to help control the spread of viral infections is by washing your hands and using good hygiene.

Tissues, antibacterial hand washes, soap and common sense.

Antibiotics do nothing for most viral infections. The best possible remedy is to educate people on proper hand washing techniques and to stay home when they are sick.

Sad thing is even with all the education most people do not follow the guidelines so viral infections spread.

There are plenty of medicines to treat this problem, but you should consult your doctor.

Vaccination is a preventive method available for many common viral infections

There are two issues: avoiding the infection to begin with, and minimizing the effects of it after it happens.

Avoiding the infection to begin with is best accomplished by:
-- avoiding people who are sick
-- covering mouth when sneezing or coughing
-- wash hands after contact with people or surfaces which have the viruses
-- wipe down surfaces with a disinfectant which is good for viruses (not anti-biotic)

Getting vaccinated does not prevent infection. It means if you get infected, your body is better able to prevent the infection from expressing itself as a disease. Many viral diseases are vaccine-preventable: hepatits-A, hepatits-b, rabies, chicken pox, influenza, polio all have vaccines.

A note with the annual "flu shots". There are countless different strains of Influenza. The CDC figures out each year, based upon surveillance data, which strains are the most likely to be prevalent in a given year. They contract with a vaccine manufacturer to make the vaccine to combat the most likely 2-3 strains. So, yes, if you get the flu shot, you can still catch the flu - you're just much less likely to get it.

There's not a lot you can do for the common cold, other than treat the symptoms. For other viral diseases, like HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Chicken Pox, Rabies, etc. there are disease-specific treatments.

There are viral diseases for which there is no cure and little treatment. The one with the biggest press coverage is HIV/AIDS- can't cure it, have a hard time even treating it effectively. Much less noteworthy are some things like Herpes - can't cure it, but can treat the symptoms to minimize the effects (valproic acid, a.k.a. Valtrex). This simply controls the symptoms, it doesn't control the disease nor does it keep the patient from infecting others.

p.s. yeah, I know, I know polio is a separate type of agent, and not a true virus

use anti bio tics in lesser quantity and use more liquids
like tender coconut water and butter milk to increase strength
in resisting the viral diseases

One can't control them, prevention perhaps. A good environment and right food.,,lots of liquid.

by sleeping

I work in an office with over 150 people in the building. I manage to keep the virus's away with lots of hand washing and keeping up on my vitamins. Eat well and sleep a full 8 hours per night.
