This is not an unusual pattern. After a decent viral infection the immune system may be under par and remain so for some months. If you check white blood counts there is often a neutropaenia ( low neutrophils) and one of the immune globulins is often low.

Unfortunately nothing but time will improve this. It does not respond to anything like antibiotics, vitamins or supplements.

His immune system is out of whack. This is not usually the case. Please consult your pediatrician.

probably a weak immune system. you should go to your pediatrician for some vaccines so that he won't get sick so often.

children have weaker immune systems to start with, compared to adults, and with chicken pox, immunity goes down too. my young cousin had a similar case, take good care of him and he'll be fine.

p.s i assumed you already brought him to the doctors!

In this case you really should consult with a pediatrician. His immune system is doing it's best to fight infections but he may need a boost of a good antibiotic.
You don't want to play around with home remedies too much but give him some good vitamins in his diet, plenty of orange juice, and any nutritious food the little guy eats!
Good luck~Gretchen

my son has had chicken pox twice we planned a holiday in march but had to cancel coz he caught them then 2 weeks later my daughter caught them, maybe his immune system is low!
it a pain aint it they get over one thing then get another
3 weeks ago my son fell off our garden wall only about 22cm high and fell awkward and broke his arm. 2 nights in hospital for him. dread what could happen next

Dr. Frank`s advice looks spot on. My son went through the same and I`m a school teacher and i`ve seen it in other kids too. This phase will pass, but always consult your doctor if u are anxious about any aspect of your child`s health.

Have you seen a doctor? Does your son go to nursery school or day care? Young kids who are in frequent contact with other children often pass around the disease of the day because their immature immune systems can't fight it all off.

I have a 2-year-old son and he takes an immune booster supplement called Immune Alert (they have formulas for adults and childrens). Unlike a lot of supplements, there is 40 years of research behind the active ingredient in this one (beta glucan, a yeast extract) that shows it positive effect on boosting the immune system's ability to naturally fight off germs and illness.

Our son's pediatrician has been amazed at how healthy he has stayed and he's about the only kid at nursery school who hasn't missed weeks due to illness.

Go to www.immunealert.com and get a free sample -- and try some too; our whole family takes it and we love it!

it's weakened his immune system.
You need to help him to rebuild his immune system up again.
Give him good quality, nutritious foods.
Home made chicken broth is very good for this.
Get some fresh chicken pieces, place in a saucepan with onion, garlic, carrots etc and cover with hot water. Cook for several hours (either in oven or on hotplate). Add potatoes near the end and any other veg you think he might like (peas?) When it is ready the chicken will be soft and falling off the bone. Remove all the bones and give him some of the soft meat and broth.

make sure he gets plenty of quality rest.
Establish a good bedtime routine.
make sure he gets a chance to walk in the fresh air at least once a day, wrapped up warm if needs be if weather is cold
