Is there a viral infection that affects how much you eat and how full you feel after so much food? |
My best friend has been having problems with eating ever since her divorce. She lost so much weight because it hurt her stomach too much to eat. That was months ago and shes moved on since then, but recently (in the past 2 weeks) she has been having trouble eating as much as medium sized quantities of food. She eats a little and then she says her stomach hurts like when you overeat way too much. Is there a viral infection she could have? She claims shes not anorexic (I know shes not, I've seen her eat). We all thought it was stress at first, but right now shes not under as much stress as she was before. Anyone have any ideas if maybe its some kind of viral infection? She needs to see a doctor as soon as possible to rule out any kind of internal trouble...and make SURE that she is not suffering from an eating disorder! This is very serious & could cause death...please be sure she is seen! If she's recently divorced then it's probably nerves and anxiety. That will cause you to lose your appetite and then your stomach shrinks so when you do get hungry you can't eat much. It would be best to see a doctor to be sure what's going on. |
