Can this be caused by a Viral Infection of some sort? Doctors believe so.?

Im 26 yrs old & have been feeling unwell for nearly 3 months now. It all started off with the tingling of the fingertips on my left hand. A few days after that i was flushed with fatigue and ongoing lightheadedness which made me feel "Spaced out" and a dull "not in this world" feeling. I went to a G.P. and he found out that i had some sort of middle ear infection and put me on antibiotics. I also saw an ENT who checked me up and said that my ear was abit red and probably was all due to a viral infection. My ear ended up feeling better after a few weeks but the lightheaded, dull, confused, anxiety feeling was still there. I started getting really severe heartburn pains and indigestion, and i was ordered to get a gastroscopy in which they found out that i had chronic gastritis and 3 stomach ulcers. I am now on Nexium for that. Recently i completed a blood test which blood count was normal but my thyroid TSH was low. Have had brain MRI which was normal too. Can anyone give me insight?

I have had 4 blood tests done. All concluded with normal blood counts and slightly high liver count (*93) which has now gone down to *60... I have been tested for HSV, Hep B & C, HIV in which all were NEGATIVE.

Recently i have been feeling run down, fatigued, my body feels hot but i do not have a fever. These symptoms along with ongoing symptoms in which i have had for nearly 3 months such as lightheadedness, anxiety, spaced out, hard to concentrate, dullness and more...

I've seen a neurologist and he has done a EEG test which results were normal too. I have also seen a balance specialist who did a caloric test and found out that i had vestibular weakness on my right side.

Doctors believe that it is all due to a viral infection that has not fully healed.

My lifestyle before feeling this illness was quite hectic. I would binge drink and smoke every weekend on a social level and have late nights. Im thinking this might be a contribution to all of this?

Well, it sounds like some of it may be due to the vestibular dysfunction that your neurologist mentioned -- lightheadedness, spaced-out feeling, etc. A lot of it sounds like it may have been due to the rough lifestyle you were living though, as the excessive drinking and smoking are well known to cause peptic ulcers, which may be contributing to your discomfort now.

You've got many things going on though, and I might even suspect that your current feelings of discomfort are from the Nexium you've been taking for the last few months -- so, you might consider switching to a different PPI? Your thyroid level is also something to consider, because low thyroid can cause all kinds of systemic havoc in the body.

Sometimes things happen with the body that can't be explained.
It doesn't hurt to see a new doctor and get a new slant on things.
You might have depression, that can cause all sorts of symptoms.
Have they checked you for Epstien Bar Virus or Chronic Fatigue?

It sounds like your body is screaming at you........slow down slow down slow down........

Your thyroid may be your problem, u said that it was low, that would account for the tiredness , and being hot , you hair and skin may be dry to... you could have sinusitis and the ear infection , which would make you spaced out. they need to run a complete thyroid panel on you. sounds like that is your problem, it will cause extreme tiredness. Hope this helps

Rascal, It sounds like you are having difficulty with your adrenal glands. These are located just above the kidneys and your going to have to start looking after yourself much better. The smoking and drinking...boy, that's OUT!!!
The next thing you need to do is LOOK for a CNT: A Certified Nutritional Therapist. Doctors' don't do doctoring any more; they listen to you and treat a smyptom with a pill and are not getting to the root cause.
My sister and I have been seeing a CNT since November and we've been taking a complete protocol of BIOTICS as well. In Feb we had follow up vistis and we are improving our
health remarkably. I've lost 25 lbs just since Janurary.
I am feeling better, I have more energy. (I've been waiting for my energy to return since I had breast cancer in 1990) I might as well list everything; I am also a diabetic and a thyroid pt. My health has also improved to the point of getting OFF insulin shots and one diabetic drug and I've got one more diabetic drug to go and I will be a diet controlled diabetic and hopefully considered cured,,,that's what I'm after with this.
And now things are starting to happen. I am so excited about this so I thought I would share this with you.
I was also on Protonix for the same reason you are taking Nexium...the pill you're taking is covering up the problem not helping you HEAL a problem. I had gerd, not uclers though.
Still the pill your taking is keeping your stomach acid from functioning to process your food. That means that the food will not be completely digested when it travels into the intestines and will putrify further there instead of completely processing in the stomach where it is suppose to.
I've been off Protonix a least a year maybe 18mos..My protocol program has a liquid Acidolphilis which helps me have more stomach acid to do the job it's suppose to.
There is a whole new world of learning coming your way and believe me when I tell you your GP ? he hasn't got a clue.
