What are some at home reliefs for a viral infection?


I have a stuffy, itchy nose, sore throat and itchy sore ears. I just feel like crap in general. I have seen my doctor and she confirmed that as always it is just a viral infection and I will just have to wait it out. This could take a week and I don't think I can stand it this long, I am pregnant so I am also suffering with morning sickness all the while careing for two young children. So any tips on what I can do for relief, especially for the itchy ears would be a big help. Thanks a lot.

i think your sol b/c your prego-what about otc ear drops?-try warming up some olive oil in the micro and drop a few drops in each ear-i do this w/ my little one when hes teething for earaches-vicks on your chest,neck and back might help-vaporizer or humidifier in your room at night-

There are no better ways to recover than to drink lots of fluids, get plenty of rest, Etc. And, you are pregnant so over the counter medications can be dangerous. Read the label. Once that particular virus runs its course, you will be immune to it.

lots of juice, lots of water, lots of chicken soup. if you have someone to help you, lots of rest too. your doc is right, viruses can't be cured by antibiotics, only time and the body learning how to combat this virus. hope you feel better soon.

firstly,get someone to come and help with the children,take your doctors advice and rest as much as you can,drink lots of fluids and if you are not feeling better in a couple of days go back to your doctor.get better soon.

Bless you heart! Try drinking some hot lemon and sugar (splenda) for you throat, and nose, add a dash of cayenne pepper, it may even help your stomach! I pity you though...Bless you again! As for the itchy ears - is anyone talking about you?

Since you are pregnant just try old home remendies like

Vitamine C, half a fresh lemon squeezed in to 8 oz cup of warm spring water and drink it without sugar.... may be some honey.

I would immagine it is hard with two younger child but try to rest as much as you can. The rest will keep your resistance up which will help you to fight infection and sickness

Drink water! Eat vegetables high in vitamine A like carrots and broccolli and other green leafy vegetables.

Take some lecithin which is high in phosphorous and excellent when you are not feeling well.

Cod Liver Oil because this has vitamine A and Vitamine D

GET RID OF ANY KIND OF PLUG IN ROOM DEORDERIZERS. THESE WILL MAKE YOU SICK. JUST KEEPY THE HOUSE CLEAN IN GENERAL. USE FRUIT RINES LIKE LEMONS AN D ORANGES AND BOIL THEM IN POT OF WATER IF YOU WANT A NICE SMELL IN THE HOUSE. THE AROMA WILL KEEP THE HOUSE SMELLING NICE WITHOUT THE CHEMICAL STUFF FROM A ROOM DEODORIZER.

A LOT OF WHITE SUGAR WEAKENS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM! SO STOP THE MADNESS IF YOU USE A LOT OF WHITE SUGAR. GET SOME RAW SUGAR BUT EVEN USE THAT SPEARINGLY
