Viral Skin Infection?

i spent 4 hours at hte hospital with my 5 mth old little girl yesterday, to be told she has a viral skin infection, but didn't do any tests on her, but today ive checked the symtoms which match exactly to those of Rubella, which is also a viral skin infection, but they say that it is confirmed with a blood test, does anyone know or can explain what she has

usually just a virus like a cold.............then a viral rash develops
