If a person has just had surgery with a weak immune system should he have visitor with viral infection?

dad just had septic gallbladder removed, has duodeum cancer in remission, niece with severe ear infection and some type of viral infection, his immune system is extremely low, should I take the chance? he is 69 years old

any one with a low immune system is able to get all types of infections so my best advice is give it a few weeks maybe 2 then see how the kid is and your father then make a better judgement.
the last thing your father wants now is an infection on top of what he is already dealing with..

No, you should wait until her infection has cleared up before you take her to see him. If his immune system is as low as you imply it is, you could be putting dad in harms way. You should also take the time to decontaminate yourself before entering the room if you have been around the niece, this will help ensure that you do not bring the virus in on your clothing, hair or skin.
