Bladder infections from sex? |
ever since i've got with my hubby i've had urinary tract infections. Both to the point where i pee blood, my bladder cramps and it burns like no other. I've been tested for all stds and so has he and we are very faithful to one another and we are married . My question is.. he's not circumsized and not only have i got 2 utis since we started having intercourse but i got a vaginal bacterial infection. He showers daily and cleans himself very well. we are trying for a baby so i guess protection is not an option. what can we do to prevent me from running into the doctors office monthly? There are many things you can do to prevent UTI'. Both you and your partner should shower together, before intercourse. Afterwards, immediately urinate. Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice during the day. Try to not to drink too much caffeine. your infection may be cause that your immune system is week.eat lot of yogurt, drink acv in warm water.you will be all set. Make sure you go to the bathroom immediately following sex, and remember to wipe from front to back. That should help! Make your husband wash his hands right before sex. Sounds weird, but I promise you that it will help reduce the amount of UTIs you get. I actually had the very same problem and finally I asked my doctor to give me some tips to stop getting them. She said to 1. make your man wash his hands! and 2. start taking a daily cranberry pill. The pills work much better than drinking juice. If you take them daily, you shouldn't get any UTIs at all. But the thing about dirty hands (touching anything....money, the dog, kids, public countertops, ANYTHING) is that he will transfer the germs to you during the slightest contact and it will cause a lot of infections. That, much more than the fact that he isn't circumsized, is probably the cause of your infections. It happens, but bleeding and burning are way too much. this is what is commanly referred to as Honeymoon-itus. You don't say if you pee and wash yourself after sex. b/c you are TTC you may be reluctant to jump out of bed right after sex. the best way to prevent a UTI is to urinate within an hour after sex. this will flush bacteria out of the urethra. the act of sex pushes bacteria into the urethra. you may also want to increase your water intake or drink cranberry juice. It is not uncommon to get a UTI after sex. Make sure you pee after because often bacteria gets in there. |
