Tea and bladder infections?

What is it in tea that can bring on bladder infections? If it's the caffeine, do they make caffeine free tea bags?

yes, tea is a major cause of bladder infections, but they do make decaffeinated tea, but it's a little gross...I'm like a tea addict, lol, and that decaf crap just doesn't cut it.

Yes it's the caffeine and they make a variety of Decaffinated tea.

Tea does not cause bladder infections. Most are caused by bacteria after sex.

Thanks! I didnt know that tea helped out in that area

Yes there are caffeine free teas - they're either decaffeinated or you can drink herbal teas.

However, I would be looking at an external source, since I'm guessing that tea is not the only source of caffeine in your diet (chocolate, coffee, sodas, etc). Furthermore, most food and drink consumption does not contribute directly to creating an infection although some foods can exacerbate the problem.

Women are more prone to bladder infections due to anatomy. Tea does not cause bladder infection in and off itself. The problem is that caffeine is a diuretic and causes you to urinate more frequently that you would normally. It is necessary for a woman to have a healthy balance of good bacteria in her body to keep things in check. Too much caffeine will cause you to constantly flush the bladder and throw the bodies natural balance off and making you susceptible to bladder infections, just the same way that douching all the time will make you susceptible to yeast infections. Cut down on the caffeine and you will do much better.

there is no relation except one thing that
beverage containing caffiene it act as diuretic increase urine output
