Preventing Bladder Infections?

I have had two bladder infections within the past month. its very sudden, i havent had one for two years and then i have two!! i've heard a lot about how your suppose to pee before or after sex or whatever but i'm not sure how accurate that is... i also know i can take cranberry pills... but remember to take supplements may not be successful.. very busy and bad memory! :( anything else you guys can think of???

Beach & lizard are right. & also, soap is an irritant. it can get up there & clog it up. my daughter had an infection for months , cause of the soap we were using, we got some soap-free-soap from Shaklee, & started using it, & made her drink lots of water, & she cleared up.

Make sure your partner doesn't have one, he/she might be giving it back to you after it's cleared up. You can also drink cranberry juice, if you don't want to take the pills.

Drink water often to flush out your system, wear cotton undies, avoid too much caffiene, wipe front to back (though I'm sure you already know that). Keep colloidal silver on hand...it is a broad spectrum natural antibiotic that does not kill the friendly flora in your intestines and has no bad side effects. It can be purchased at a health food store or online...it really does work and unlike regular prescription antibiotics it also kills viruses and does not cause bacteria or viruses to become more resistant. Also you can try taking garlic capsules such as kyolic as a dietery supplement daily as prevention. Garlic has antibiotic properties as well.

I got a lot of bladder infections when I used spermicide with nonoxidol (sp?).

Your first bladder infection probably didn't totally go away so it got infected again. You probably need to get antibiotics to make it totally go away.

Your best bet is to make sure you drink cranberry juice everyday, take vitamins, and yes, you should urinate after sex. Also, make sure you urinate frequently. Don't bother holding urine, that only makes it worse. Finally, drink a lot of water, at least 10 glasses a day to prevent infections.
