Any other women with bladder infections after sex? What do yo do?

I have a history of bladder/kidney infections, particularly after sex. I've been to a urologist years ago and all he did was give me antibiotics when an infection occurred. I had one doctor who gave me an antibiotic to take for one week every month to prevent the infection, it worked for a while but it stopped. I stopped having sex and had no infection for years. I started having sex again and here I go again. I do the cleaning front to back/right after sex, cranberry stuff, etc. Any other ideas besides just not having sex?

I once had the same problem. I developed a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) which I didn't know I had, and it developed into a Kidney Infection (very painful, isn't it!?).

I visited my Primary Care Physician (doctor) and he explained a few things that can cuase this. He told me not to take any buble baths and to always pee after sex. He then prescribed me an antibiotic and the infection cleared up. He recommended always peeing after sex to prevent this from happening again. I don't think that cleaning alone will do the trick. You have to make sure you urinate afterwards ALWAYS. If you are already doing this and it doesn't work, you may want to try douching after sex every time. I've read that women should douche after sex always, whether or not you have a history of UTI or kidney infections.

Aside from taking these precautions after sex, I think you already know what else will cure/prevent these infections. Cranberry juice is supposed to clean out your system and beer does the same thing, belive it or not. Try always staying hydrated and drinking a lot of water so that your system stays flushed out. Not drinking enough water can contribute to the problem especially if you drink a lot of drinks like milk and tea that your kidneys have to filter through. When I had gotten my kidney infection, I had been drinking nothing but milk and sweet tea, which I think contributed to the problem.

I hope all of this information helped and good luck - I know these things can (literally) be a real pain!

i am the same way...i have heard that if you pee after sex, it will help...

You may want to ask your partner to make sure his hands/ nails/other body parts are very well cleaned. I have this problem too and I have to make sure he's very clean otherwise i will get an infection. Also make sure you pee EVERY time afterwards, this flushes out bacteria. Other than that I also use the cranberry juice method

Empty your bladder after sex. What happens is some of the bacteria gets into your urethra - so peeing will "flush" it out.

I am on alternating days of cranberry capsules, black cherry extract capsules, and on an overall diet to control an overgrowth of yeast (candida) fungus throughout my body. I have not had a positive UTI test for more than 6 months (thank goodness).

I also get up out of my seat (sedentary job) about once an hour, as that can help prevent - and I drink 64 oz of water or more a day.

In my opinion sex has nothing to do with urinary infection, Anti bio tics might have been given for other infection
Sex is worse to get the sexual organs infected.

excuse yourself after the dirty deed and go to pee straight away. Then drink lots of water.

Without getting to personal try a different position during sex..one where no pressure is being put on your insides IYSWIM. The other thing to try is drinking a glass of water before getting intimate and then having a pee straight after. Drink plenty of water after sex as well to help flush your bladder.

same way..pee after sex. the bacteria became used to the antibiotics too hun. eat healthier and ALWAYS clean after sex. Make sure the cranberry juice you are drinking is 27% or more, a lot are only 5-10%. my email is jessica.stakes@ahco.biz if you need more tips but i gotta get back to work

drink lots of water and take a piss immediately after going down on your man.

It's the moisture that causes the infections. I've gotten them from too much sex or taking a lot of baths or swimming. You have to keep that area very clean and DRY. Use a condom to contain that liquid and then wash & dry yourself thoroughly after every bout.

Perhaps, use a condom every time? There is this stuff called Kefir which is way better than yogurt. I don't know if it helps with bladder infections, it does with yeast infections though. And also, garlic pills. I used to get yeast infections alot and I stopped getting them after I started taking garlic pills. I know that yeast infections and bladder infections are two different things, but they are both caused by imbalances. So maybe these things will help.

dont NOT have sex... its every womans right to feel sexy and have that pleasure... everyone who said pee afterwards is right... no matter if you have to go or not sit there til you do. i had sex ( 7times in one night) i wasnt told this little secret and i had the worst UTI. i didnt know what to do or take so i told my mom i had a UTI and she knew right away that i had sex. i was later told to pee and its worked ever since

Bacteria getting into your urethra, and then into your bladder is the primary cause of UTI鈥檚. This commonly happens during sex due to the forceful thrusting, and the introduction of foreign bacteria. To prevent this, make sure you pee shortly after sex.

You can also introduce bacteria to your urethra thorough a variety of other methods 鈥?like a vigorous work-out on a bike. A bike seat pushing into your vulva is just what bacteria are looking for. Sure a workout feels great at the time, but bacteria getting in where they don鈥檛 belong will make it cost you later.

Any source of bacteria that can find it鈥檚 way into your bladder can cause a UTI. Another common cause is wearing panties 鈥?in fact some girls who have a lot of trouble with UTI鈥檚 are not able to wear panties at all.

go pee after sex because when you have sex you get bacteria inside your urethera which leads to the bladder and the bladder is usually bacteria free. make sure your partner has clean private and hands. also never let a man put his penis back into your vagina if it has been in the "other hole" if u know what I mean because it will transfer bacteriato the vagina and surrounding area (that is if you experiment with that type of sex) also if you have had a child you may be more susseptible to get uti's

Go to the bathroom (pee) right after, and then hop in the shower. It's not romanitc, but it's better than a bladder infection.
