A bladder infection causes inflammation of the bladder and urethra. Bladder infection symptoms usually include one or more of the following:
The need to urinate more than usual, often passing small amounts of urine

A sudden need to urinate

Pain, burning, or other discomfort during urination

The need to urinate at night

Pain in the lower abdomen

Urine that is cloudy, has an unpleasant odor, or has an unusually strong smell

Some of the symptoms of a bladder infection are similar to the symptoms of Overactive Bladder, such as strong, sudden urges, frequent bathroom trips, and incontinence.

remember always wipe front to back not back to front..
and if sexually active always urinate after sex.. don't lay
there urinating cleans out the urethra opening

when you are sexually active or dint keep yourself clean enough or wipe yourself the right way (front to back) that's when you get bladder infection

Yes, those symptoms are very typical of a bladder infection. Drink lots of water and it will help alleviate the discomfort.

Bladder infections are very common. And I'm sorry to have to say this, but now that you've had one, you're more likely than others to get more in the future.

Your symptoms sound very much like a standard bladder infection.

I highly recommend that you drink a bunch of cranberry juice, and/or visit your local herbal shop for cranberry pills. This will help, along with the antibiotic, to clean up your urinary tract.

What might also help in the future, is to drink lots of cranberry juice if you start getting any of the sensations associated with the infection...if you even think you're getting one, drink up!

What you are feeling and seeing is a normal part of a UTI. Finish your med completely (Primsol [trimethoprim] right?) and drink 2-3 liters of water/day now and hereafter. You will be fine. Now that you know what it is, if it ever happens again you'll know it for what it is.
