I would like hear what other people think about this before I go to the doctor...I have had bladder infections

I would like hear what other people think about this before I go to the doctor...I have had bladder infections before, but never this severe. I feel like I have to urinate like every 30 minutes and after I urinate, it looks like there is a little piece of tissue or skin in the toilet. Also, right after my urine comes out, I have this sharp pain where the urine actually comes out from. I mean, it really hurts!!! And most of the time, my urine is not the normal yellow color, it looks clear, but with a hazy look to it. So if anyone has had these symptoms or know anything about it, please let me know... thanks!!!

you should try to drink cranberry juice and go to the doctor because it can get really bad.

You need antibiotics asap. It also could be a std(sexually transmitted disease)Go get checked...pain is not fun.

That's a bladder infection alright. Have your doctor put you on Macrobid. If not, it could go up into your kidneys and you'll start to pee blood as well.

For the future, ALWAYS be sure you are well hydrated and avoid caffeine and alcohol, take cranberry tablets and garlic tablets periodically to naturally clear your bladder (garlic is a natural antibiotic).

I used to get them ALL the time, but I was in college and drank a lot of beer. My body was dehydrated and I wasn't peeing out the impurities.

Ask your local pharamacist where the pills are that you can take for the pain. They sell them over the counter. That will help until you can get to the doctor.

All i know is that you will have your answers after visiting a doctor about this. It sounds very serious, dont let it go.

Not everyone with a UTI has symptoms, but most people get at least some. These may include a frequent urge to urinate and a painful, burning feeling in the area of the bladder or urethra during urination. It is not unusual to feel bad all over - tired, shaky, washed out - and to feel pain even when not urinating. Often, women feel an uncomfortable pressure above the pubic bone, and some men experience a fullness in the rectum. It is common for a person with a urinary infection to complain that, despite the urge to urinate, only a small amount of urine is passes. The urine itself may look milky or cloudy, even reddish if blood is present. A fever may mean that the infection has reached the kidneys. Other symptoms of a kidney infection include pain in the back or side below the ribs, nausea, or vomiting.

I have had one of those before when I was little and they are not fun. Go to the doctor immediately and he will set you on antibiotics. Bladder infections are usually infected by bacteria getting into the area where urine comes out. Try to keep it clean down there as much as possible when you take your showers.

It still sounds like a bladder infection.....make sure you go in, cause this could turn into a nasty kidney infection before you know it. I've had this and it's not fun. Cranberry juice will only help when you have the very first symptom....and you have to drink pure juice...not like ocean spray, or anything diluted. I think so many people have ended up with really nasty infections because they have tried the cranberry juice thing and not gone to the doctor. In fact, a friend of mine did that and ended up in the hospital for a few days because her kidneys were starting to shut down.

It sounds pretty bad. Maybe you are passing some stones. Some symptoms could be : Cloudy, foul smelling urine, fever, chills, or weakness might be a sign of a serious infection. I think you should see the doctor as soon as possible. If you notice any fever associated with this, go to the emergency room as soon as possible!

I agree with all this advice. I especially like a herbal supplement called Cran-Clearance by Jarrow (sold in health food stores) taken preventatively. (Take it preventatively after you see a doctor).

This is indeed serious, and you should be under doctor's care. You DON'T want to fool around with the health of your kidneys-they are VERY important.

Call your doctor and make an appt. asap. The cloudy urine means there is protein in the urine that is not normal. Stay away from anything caffeinated until you are well. There are many different antibiotics; some UTIs are drug specific. Each infection may react to only a few antibiotics. Not all antibiotics work on all infections. You need to see your doctor as soon as you can.

In the meantime drink lots of water and some cranberry juice. As stated by another, garlic is NOT a natural antibiotic.

Bladder infections are caused by e coli bacteria-everyone has it in their colon. You can get a bladder infection from not cleaning yourself or your partners organ after having anal sex. They say taking a lot of baths can cause it, but they only say that to avoid mentioning the real reason people get it. (Kids get it from wiping the wrong way, or not well enough.)

Your doctor will test your urine for e coli to determine if you have a bladder infection. Ask him to also check for STD's.

Sweetie, you are probably miserable right now. Been there, done that, and I hope that my limited experience will help you.
If you are already following some of this advice, cool, but I'll start basic.
First, start drinking water! Drink as much as you possibly can, then drink more. You want to create a massive amount of urine to expel. It seems to me when you have to go every half hour, it feels better to have something coming out. Also, probably doesn't hurt in the flushing bacteria, perhaps?
Second, call the doctor and make an appointment. If your doctor is closed, or you don't have one, or whatever, skip to three.
Third, venture out if you can, or if you're lucky, have someone go pick up some supplies for you. You'll want as much 100% cranberry juice as you can stand, or if you can't stand 100%, at least get a 100% juice blend - juice with corn syrup in it won't do you any good, but cranberry juice is beneficial. Besides, you'll get sick of drinking water after about the third glass - you are still drinking your water, right? Don't stop! If you can't stomach cranberry juice, stick to water. You can buy some cranberry pills at the drug store called AZO Cranberry, and they are supposed to be concentrated. Cranberry makes your urine acidic and helps kill the bacteria.
If it is absolutely driving you crazy, you can buy an over the counter drug called phenazopyridine, marketed under AZO Standard and Prodium, I believe. Let me tell you, you take some of this, and you will be much more ok until you go to the doctor. This will stain your urine bright orange and can ruin your undies, though, so be careful. It also does not kill bacteria, so you can't just take it and hope it is going away because it doesn't hurt anymore. If you have chunks, you need antibiotics from your doctor. Take this in the meantime...lifesaver, I swear.
You can buy a test at the drugstore that will tell you if you have a UTI, but I think it's a bit of a waste when you are at the point of discomfort you are. Something's messed up down there, your doctor will help you sort it all out. In the meantime, I know how you can't stop thinking about it, keep checking yahoo answers, it'll take your mind off the uncomfortable sensation. Keep drinking water, more, more, more!
Fourth, after you get back with your stuff, or while your sweet caregiver is fetching cranberry juice and pills, get yourself a GIANT glass of water (you heard me), and run a shallow (sitz, right?) bath as hot as you can stand. Sit in it and I guarantee it will relieve a little of the irritation. In fact, if you can't go to the doctor or buy any supplies, the two things I'd do at a minimum are drink TONS of water and take a nice, hot bath.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. I hate UTI, it's terrible, you just can't think about anything else. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!

E. coli bacteria - the most common organism that causes UTIs doubles every 20 minutes - that's why your body is fighting to get rid of it and you have the trip to the bathroom every few minutes. The cloudy appearance to your urine is because of the presence of White Blood Cells. (also known as Pus cells). These guys are trying to kill the infection. Untreated UTIs can be very serious and lead to infection and damage to kidneys - so please get to a clinic or ER to get treatment. Then to prevent a reocurrence drink cranberry juice on a regular basis.

Mightyart was right, but skip the drug store, go to the emergency room. Yes, go now. Don't wait.

Then start drinking water etc
