Do any women who do lots of jogging suffer from bladder infections?

Since i took up jogging a couple of years ago I have been prone to bladder infections and cystitus. Are there any other women who run or jog have the same problem?

Often these occur when you are dehydrated and you aren't urinating enough to eliminate all the bacteria. The best way to know if you are taking in enough water is if your urine is clear every time you go.

Many UTIs occur from bacteria e coli, which travels from your rectum to your urethra. Sweating while jogging could make this an easier journey. If you are already being careful to wipe front to back, try washing the rectal and perineal area each time after you have a bowel movement or perhaps right before you go jogging. There are personal wipes that come in a tub (Charmin, Kleenex, etc sold in the toilet paper aisle) that make this much easier.

Wishing you luck and much less pain.

well unfortunatley women have shrot urethra which always make them prone to urinary tract infections.
there is a possibility that while you are jogging, due to contraction of muscles some micro organisms ascent through urethra and causes bladder infections.

YOu can only suffer from infections if you do not drink a lot of water while exericsing and after exercise because dehydration increases chance of infection .there is no link to contraction of urethra by exercise ....
