Question about bladder Infections/problems can NE one please help?

Hi I recently went to the doctors because I has a bladder problem- where I had the urge to urinate significantly more than I usually do, about once every 1-2 hour which I know isn't normal, the doctors just sent me for blood and urine tests which came back ok and some tablets that didn'y have much effect, I've also tried various suppliments, I don't drink too little and I don't drick alot, I've now cut coffee out and have really reduced my alchohol intake...can ne one please help or share there ploblems thanks

Are you sure it isn't your prostate gland causing the problem?

What is the name of the tablets?
Try getting a supplement for male prostate. It should have various nutrients that may help.

i had this urinary tract infection wherein after having a pee i feel like peeing again. what i did was to take antibiotics for a week with the medicine given by the doctor. i also helped my body of course. i drank a lot of water, and for the bladder, cranberry juice. it worked for me. after that i go away for salty foods and have a good hygiene

you might want to try cranberry juice: drinking this on a regular basis is very effective at preventing bladder/urethral infection and cytitis (although this may not be your problem). Anyway, you may find it a useful supplement to any medication you are taking and it certainly won't do any harm (quite the opposite: it tastes great and has loads of vitamins).

It may be a bladder infection but not a very severe one. I get them very regularly, and sometimes even the test does not show that I actually have an infection. (They count the White blood cells in your urine if the concentration is high then it means infection) Try cranberry Juice lots of it. It helps, I have gotten to the point that I take two cranberry pills daily this is awsome because I used to got the UTI like once every three months and it's been 2 yrs since I had one. The Cranberry Extract makes it to where the germ cannot get caught in the lining of ur bladder and create the problem, pain and frequency. Also any caffeen can make this worse not just coffee, sodas too. This will also increase frequency and can increase pain. The need to unrinate during and after a UTI can increase also because you have had some problems with the bladder. It will become more regular with time and healing

Hi, from what I gather from your post the urine tests came back negative for bacteria? (As you say they were "ok".) But in turn the doctor(s) still prescribed antibiotics, despite a clean urine culture.

This is a relatively common story amongst people who have a bladder condition called "Interstitial Cystitis". The symptoms of "IC" vary a bit from person to person, but in general they share many characteristic with UTIs (bladder infections), however the cause of IC is thus far unknown and it has not been found thus far to caused by bacteria. IC is a chronic condition which affects people of all ages, genders, walks of life and nationalities, though it is more common amongst women. Current statistics indicate that as many as 1,000,000 Americans or more have IC (yet, how many in the general population have ever even heard this condition, unfortunately).

Some of the symptoms of IC include an urinary frequency, urgency, pain when voiding, voiding at night (called nocturia), pain during (or after) sexual activity, bladder sensitivity when eating and drinking certain foods (particularly those which are acidic, alcohol, hot spices, caffeine, and processed foods), bladder/pelvic/lower back/abdominal pain, and feeling bloated (refered to as "IC belly").

I don't want to alarm you, of course, there are certainly other reasons why a person can have bladder symptoms despite a negative UTI (i.e., kidney or bladder stones, cancer, urethral problems, prostate problems, etc). Speak to your doctor and explain that the symptoms are not getting any better and ask to be referred to a urologist (if he/she has the gaul to ask "why" say that you want to rule out the possibility of you having IC, cancer and other potentially very serious conditions).

If down the road it does turn out that you have IC, there are lots of treatment options available, as well as lifestyle changes (i.e., following as "IC friendly" diet) which may help to reduce your symptoms.

Hang in there, I know first hand how frustrating bladder problems can be, especially when the urine tests come back negative, because I have IC and my journey with it began on much the same foot.
