Question about bladder infections/UTI's during pregnancy?

Hi everyone-
I am about 18 weeks along and am all of a sudden feeling so much pressure in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. It's not painful or anything, but I am going to the bathroom more frequently and it's not just a trickle. I am wondering if this is "normal" or more like some sort of infection. It doesnt burn when I pee or feel iritated and there is no blood or spotting, just a lot of frequent urination and pressure when I press my baldder area. Should I call the doc or just assume it's normal at this stage?

As the fetus grows, you are going to have less room down there. There will be more pressures put on everything, including your bladder. If you have morning sickness, it is caused by the additional metabolic rate of the fetus affecting the spleen. You can solve this by up regulating your adrenal glands with herbs. It takes about 1 day of taking the herbs to fix the problem. Let me know and I will get you the information if interested.

good luck

It is common but always play it safe and let you OB know.

you urinate more because the baby is getting bigger now and it's against your bladder.if it does ever start to burn and it's probably a uti and antibiotics are giving..no big deal..so i say normal honey..good luck with your pregnancy..

That is completely NORMAL!! Actually, get used to it! It's only going to get worse. I had a UTI when I was pregnant and you will know the difference, TRUST! If you start to feel pain below call your doc. They will give you meds.

It is normal for some women at this stage, but for others it could indicate a UTI. I had a UTI when I was 30 weeks pregnant. I was starting to have contractions. I suddenly developed chills and abdominal pressure. Anyhow, they immediately put me on antibiotics and bed rest till it cleared up. IT IS IMPORTANT for you to get it checked out. They simply will do a urine sample. If you do have a UTI that is not treated, it could result in preterm labour so it is better to call the doc and be safe than sorry. Good luck to you! UTIs are VERY COMMON in all of pregnancy and present differently for every woman.

It can be normal. But, I would consult your OBGYN regarding this concern of yours. UTI and Bladder infections arent good weither your pregnant or not

im not sure about the abdomen pressure bit but when you are pregnant u will need to pee more often coz u are passing out the baby's waste aswell so that is normal.i think you can get bladder infections if you dont go to the toilet often enough and when you need to like pregnant women should. i would still see a doctor though

Call your OB go in get a urine test done. Being pregnant a simple UTI could grow into a full blown kidney infection easily. This is harmful to you and your baby.

most pregnant women do get uinary tract infections. i got one and it didnt burn or any of that just your ssame syptoms. and thats what it was. just go to your doctor and they will give you a presription. try drinking some cranberry juice as well!

The pressure you feel is totally normal, and it does only increase as your pregnancy progresses. I'd personally have an UTI test done just for peace of mind. From that point, I would be certain to urinate every 2 hours (at least), drink extra water and since you now have a little person leaning on your bladder, you might want to consciously lean forward when voiding to be sure you have completely emptied your bladder.
