Pregnant after stopping birth control and taking meds for infection? |
I was on ortho tri-lo for about 3 months. During the last few weeks, I started getting really bad bladder problems. I couldn't eat without having the feeling of throw-up in my mouth. I also felt so hot and feverish. I assumed that it was the side effects from the birth control pills or I was pregnant. I went to the doctors and they prescribed me nitrofurantoin mono cap also known as macrobid and zantac. I got a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Since then, I stopped taking the birth control pills, and now my period has not started. I'm about a week and a half late or more. I want to know whether the stopping of the pills or taking the medication I was given affected my period. If my period doesn't come in a week, I plan to take another pregnancy test. Is this normal? it could be the stopping of the pills. as far as i know macrobid and zantac do not have an effect on your cycle, when you go on or come off a birth control pill it can make you irregular for up to 3 mths... if it is that bothersome go to your dr and have a blood test done.... Yes that is very normal... Coming off birth control can make your period late... now if you dont get your period in a week or so get a pregnancy test and see what it comes out... Good Luck |
