How harmfull is it when you have a blatter infection and you can't cure it because your on birth control? |
is it harmful for someone to have a blatter infection, and cant cure it because it wont work because they are taking birth control. whats the worse that could happen to you? Birth control has nothing to do with a bladder (that's with two Ds, not two Ts, by the way)infection. It can easily be cured with antibiotics. I'm not sure how harmful it would be to let it go... but I know drinking cranberry juice has helped get rid of bladder infections in the past for me. Bladder infections CAN be cured and it has NOTHING to do with Birth Control! Go to the drug store and get some URI-STAT right away. While you are there pick up a gallon of cranberry juice and start drinking it! Good luck! I can't imagine why a birth control pill would stop you from getting your bladder infection cured. If there's a discharge and a foul smell it could be a venereal disease, go to the doctor. If it's frequent urination drink cranberry juice and lots of h2o. I have had this before and was on birth control. Birth control is not going to interfere with the medication. Just call you doc and usually they will just call it in for you. Now if your thinking the medication may reduce the risk of the birth control. Then make sure you use another form of protection. Tell him if it's around your ovulation time to wear a condom unless he wants 18 years of child support! The infection will just become worse and may make urination even harder to do. And you definitely do not want a catheter with a bladder infection! It is important to seek medical treatment for any infection including a bladder infection. An untreated infection could go away on its own, but it could also spread to your kidneys causing pyelonephritis, kidney failure, sepsis and even death. That's pretty much the worst that could happen. If you are worried that antibiotics might make your birth control not work then use a condom. This is only a short term inconvenience and you will be better in no time at all. And cranberry juice really does work to prevent future bladder infections. If you do not like cranberry juice you can get a product called CranActin at the health food store. It works great too. Yikes! A bladder infection can become a urinary tract infection or a kidney infection if untreated. The bacteria can travel through your urine, back into your urethra, and wreak havoc. Why do you believe you cannot cure your bladder infection because you are on birth control? The old myth that you can't take antibiotics when you're on birth control is just that--a myth without any hard scientific evidence behind it. But if you're nervous, take some over-the-counter Cystex, which can relieve the pain and combat the infection. You can get medication to help with you bladder infection, you just have to use extra protection when having sex b/c the pill is less effective. I wouldn't let it go. I don't know if it could lead to other serious problems or not, but I would suggest going to the doctor about it. the pill doesnt interere with antibiotics, the antibiotics may interefere with the pill's effectiveness. Just use condoms while on the medication You can cure a bladder infection while you're on birth control, it's just that your birth control will be ineffective while you are taking the antibiotics, and for seven days of effective birth control pills after you finish the anitibiotics. You just need to use condoms during that time, or keep your pants on and not have sex during that time. A bladder infection can move up into your kidneys, and that can be fatal. Save your life and treat the infection first, worry about your sex life after. If your bladder infection gets much worse, you won't be wanting sex anyway. Uh, you could get a kidney infection and die. You can cure it and continue to take birth control though. You just need to use condoms while and a little while after taking antibiotics. |
