Birth Control Causes Yeast Infections?

Is it true that birth control (the Pill) causes yeast infections? So does that mean i constantly have to buy otc treatments like monistat? Is there any way around it?

Hi,
The pill does not cause Yeast Infections. Who ever told you that they are wrong. Men and Babys even get Yeast Infections. Please go to this site and it will explain it better than I could.

I don't think so.

I have never heard of any connection between the Pill and yeast infections.

the pill can change the amount of discharge you produce but does not cause yeast infections.

drink lots of water. it will flush the candida out from the inside.

yogurt helps. enteric coated acidophilus pills taken by mouth will help immensely. you get these at the health food store. it's the acidophilus & bifidus in yogurt that helps and when you eat yogurt, it helps your tummy too. but the stomach will take eat up all of the acidophilus before it gets to the liver to help the girly parts. so getting a coated pill to take orally is better.

also helpful info to PREVENT them: no douching. cotton panties. no lotions or powders in that area. only water based lubes. & if someone is prone to them, they can do a "finger" douche in the shower that involves plain water and the aforementioned finger. clean and dry are the key terms here!

the lady's partner must keep himself clean and dry also.

The pill can affect your Ph which can affect your risk of getting a yeast infection. Normally it should in a possitive way not a negative way. Is there anything you can do? Yes! Boric Acid can help make sure you vaginal ph is as it should be. Eat plenty of yogurt.
