Yeast infections and using birth control....?

I have been using the bc pill for over a year and I have never had any problems...I had a yeast infection and used an otc med last week and a few days later I started my period. I am still taking the pill...I have an off week next week...when I am supposed to have a period...does anyone know if this is normal? Did the otc yeast med cause this? I have never had early or breakthrough bleeding before.

Birth control pills/ medications can interrupt your cycle. I would not bee too concerned but at the same time, you might want to make an appointment with your GYNO, after your period.
