Is it true that many birth control pills cause yeast infections?

I've been considering birth control pills, but I get yeast infections faily easily and I don't want to take the risk of getting put on birth control and have and explosion of problems.

Does anyone have any information or advice for first time birth control users?

I just started taking the pill a month ago. I am also very susceptible to yeast infections and I haven't had a problem. I've never heard of birth control causing a yeast infection. Some antibiotics do, but to my knowledge, birth control pills usually do not. Until you start taking the pill though, make sure you use other forms of contraceptive to be safe!

some of the side effect are as listed below

> mood swings
> Heavy periods
> hot flushes
>some people do suffer from yeast infections.. depending on the type of BC pills you are on.

There are also advantages - it prevents certain types of cancers!

I've had the issue of starting birth control pills, and the change causes a yeast infection. But once that initial infection is gone, I've had no problems.
