Indigestion & antibiotics? Link?? |
Recently, my doctor prescribed me antibiotics for an ear infection and the first day I took them, I had indigestion... I finished taking them all, with no more indigestion... yes antibiotics do cause stomach upsets. They kill helpful bacteria in the stomach. But it's nothing to worry about. Once you stop the antibiotics, the bacteria grow back. Yes, because Antibiotics has side effects like GI upsets, read the label of your medicine and its adverse reactions. If you had sever GI upset, withold the medicine and refer to your EENT for another prescription. Antibiotic therapy should be completed in a prescribed length of time. |
