Indigestion and laying down? |
i get indigestion / burning sensation most nights when i'm in bed *trying* to sleep. I would not consider this GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)... anyone would get some reflux/pain if eating soon before laying down. I would not eat anything at least 3 hours before layind down for the night. It will give whatever you eat time to digest, therefore... no indigestion! :) Good luck. sounds like gastroesophageal reflux disease. Try not to eat an hour before you go to bed, no tight clothing, no carbonated drinks. put a couple bricks under the head of your bed or elevate your head on pillows. I have the same exact thing. Its referred to as acid reflux or GERD to be more technical. What I found that helps this is don't eat or drink about 2-3 hours before you go to bed. Also I take aciphex. You could try some antacids or go to the doctor for a medication you can take each day to decrease acid production like nexium, aciphex, prevacid, or prilosec. Another thing that may be helpful is go to your doctor to get an upper endoscopy done. This can rule out ulcers, ulcerative colitis, crohns, and other diseases that may be contributing to your acidic stomach. See your doc and ask about prilosec. What you are describing sounds like "gerd". Which is when the acid from your stomach goes backwards. Prilosec should cure it. Try raising your head as well. Tums are good for temporary help. |
