Anyone know what foods help with indigestion/ reflux?


I`ve heard yoghurt drinks work wonders but i hate the stuff. Anybody got any knowledge of foods that can help with indigestion and reduce the pain. i`m open to sensible suggestions. Old mothers recipes, herbal remedies. Anything that works. I`m sick of buying gaviscon and the like and milk doesnt last long enough.

I dont drink or smoke and eat fairly healthily and go to the gym 3 times a week

Eliminate greasy fast and junk food. Quit smoking and drinking. Eat natural food, and avoid eating shortly before you go to bed. Don't lay down after you eat.... prevents gravity from working and gives you a weak stomach sphincter because of it. Bread and white rice will absorb a lot of acid too. Avoid citrusy, lemony, vinagery things too.

i too suffer from reflux have a glass of milk before you eat also my doctor put me on nexum and it is very good hope all works out for you PS also get some bicarb put a teaspoon in a glass of water that helps as well it is really good bye

I've always eaten Arrowroot biscuits instead of all the chemical alternatives...they taste great ...they are inexpensive and have always worked for me.

good old water, at least 2litres a day for the average person. if you maintain a good water balance then your body knows how to sort itself out, provided you have a reasonably healthy diet and routine

Ginger is known for its digestive/carminative properties therefore making it ideal for ailments such as IBS, loss of appetite, flatulence, colic, indigestion and nausea..
so get munching on those ginger biscuits!!

There are four substances that lower esophageal sphincter pressure and thus increase reflux. They are nicotine , caffeine , alcohol and theobromine ( cocoa) . Stay away from them.

I had it severely and thought I was allergic to wheat so I stopped wheat and thereby Yeast. The acid reflux stopped completely.

Lemon juice in water works great also. I know that sounds contradictory, but just try it, it works for me. I put about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in 16 ounces every day and my stomach and esophagus is better immediately.

i have reflux.and i take 15mg lansoprazole.first thing in the morning.with my breakfast.and i avoid somking/caffine/
chocolate.and alcohol.
