According to the info given, cause can not be found, for eg, Prostatic Hypertrophy. Try to get your doctor find the cause & its treatment, rather than advising him what to do.
Good luck!

I am assuming since you have had urge incontinence for some time you have already tried behavioral modifications and pelvic floor exercises. One medication you may want to try is oxytrol patch, which in some studies has shown to have better results then oral meds with less side effects.

If medications is not the way you want to go, sacral nerve stimulation is another possible treatment that is reversible if it does not work for you. Basically it is a device that stimulates the nerve that controls the bladder and can decrease the urgent feeling.

And here is a forum where you can talk to others with urge incontinence:

If your doctor is not a specialist in treating urinary problems, you may want ask him to refer you to a urologist.
Good luck!
